Gippsland Power take on the Dandenong Stingrays at SkyBus Stadium on Friday August 19th at 7:30pm. This game will be streamed live on the NAB League app.

After having their colours lowered in two of their last three games, Gippsland Power’s challenges won’t cease on Friday night when they take on third placed Dandenong Stingrays.

With both sides boasting a plethora of top end talent, Gippsland will be looking to secure the minor premiership with a win, while Dandenong will be looking to regain some confidence after getting a score from Bendigo Pioneers last week.

AFTER THIS ROUND

The competition’s finals format sees the top three teams earn a week off next week for the Wildcard Weekend, with the other 10 teams to play knockout games to fill the last five spots in the top eight.

Then it is a straight knockout right through the finals, with the four quarter final winners progressing to the semis and then those two winners playing for the flag.

RECENT FORM: Lost 2 out of 3 after being 9-0

PAST FIVE MATCHES: lost to Greater Western Victoria by 12 points, defeated Northern by 100 points, lost to Tasmania by 11 points, defeated Oakleigh by 6 points, defeated Sandringham by 5 points.

IF THEY WIN: Will claim the minor premiership.

IF THEY LOSE: Should still finish top, unless they lose by enough to drop the 8.84% lead they have over Tasmania – roughly seven goals. A 15-goal loss could see the Power slip to third.
