This will be the second week in a row that these two sides have met each other.
Nyora will go in as favourites, especially on their home deck. They have finished on top in both their previous encounters, with the most recent match ending in 31 point victory that was predominantly controlled by the lady Saints.
Foster have been impressive in their first season, but will need to go into this game with a new plan if they are to get over the line, as the others have not come through so far.
QUALIFYING FINAL
BOISDALE-BRIAGOLONG v BUNYIP
MATCH HAS BEEN FORFEITED BY BUNYIP – BOISDALE-BRIAGOLONG AUTOMATICALLY ADVANCE TO THE GRAND FINAL.
In an amazing decision, Bunyip announced days prior to the game that they would be forfeiting their Qualifying Final clash against Boisdale-Briagolong. The Bulldogs advised that they would only have 11 players that could play in the game, which falls under the required 14 to field a side. This means the Bombers advance straight into the Grand Final, while – should Bunyip regain some unavailable players – will play the winner of Nyora v Foster in a preliminary final.
The noise around Bunyip’s decision to forfeit has been extremely loud from those outside of the club, and none of it is positive. Regardless of the reason for the forfeit, the Bunyip side will not be met with pleasantries from whoever they meet in the Preliminary Final next week.
