MATCH PREVIEW
Omeo Benambra is currently the Omeo District senior football premiership favourite and hasn’t lost a game since round one, which was against reigning premier Bruthen.
The Ranges will be up against a Buchan side that has flown under the radar for most of the season.
With a record of 8-4-1 the third placed Cavemen have shown signs that they can match it with the best although Omeo Benambra has got the wood over them both times the sides have met this season by 83 and 114 points.
Despite being comprehensively beaten on both occasion, Buchan will bring the heat and could cause the upset if it can limit the influence of the Ranges’ major goal scorers in Jai Hayward and Damien Pedder.
Hayward has booted 45 goals this season while Pedder has 37.
Brandon Betts has also been dangerous for Omeo Benambra through the midfield and up forward, booting 23 goals.
It will be a tough fight and will give both sides an indication of where they are at come finals time.
LINDENOW SOUTH v BRUTHEN
Where is it being played?: Lindenow South Rec Reserve
What time is the seniors game scheduled to start?: 2:00pm
Selected sides:
MATCH PREVIEW
Lindenow South is still searching for its first win of the season and things won’t get any easier for the Swampies when they face off against Bruthen at Lindenow South.
The Bulldogs thumped Lindenow South by 93 points back in round nine and will head in as favourites again.
If the Swampies are going to be a chance of defeating Bruthen they must limit the influence of 2018 league best and fairest, Harley Kenner.
Kenner’s ability to play through the midfield and up forward has once again put him in contention for the league’s top individual award and if he is allowed space inside the attacking forward 50m arc he will add to his 30 goals for the season.
SWIFTS CREEK v SWAN REACH
Where is it being played?: Swifts Creek Rec Reserve
What time is the seniors game scheduled to start?: 2:00pm
Selected sides:
MATCH PREVIEW
Swifts Creek and Swan Reach will battle it out for fourth at Swifts Creek.
The Swans currently occupy fourth by two points and if they secure the win it will book them a finals position.
However, the ramifications of a loss could prove costly for the Swans who face off against the more consistent Buchan next Saturday in a game the Cavemen should win.
Its getting towards the end of the start of the season, so its time to start entering your votes in to Sports Vote Count. A comprehensive and fully functional vote count and presentation program all in one, now with video capabilities.
