MATCH REVIEW

Boisdale-Briagolong confirmed their status as the premiership favourites with a 116 routing of Bunyip.

The Bulldogs were no match for the Bombers, with the home side unable to register a score after 1/4 time.

The ladder leaders lead by 14 points at the first break, but after this time Boisdale’s goal kicking power became all too evident. They piled on 6 goals in the second term to put the game close to beyond doubt.

Bunyip’s sole goal came from Taylor Dare, while Laura Croft, Teleigha Saunders and Kylie Mann battled hard all day.

For Boisdale-Briagolong, they had five multiple goal kickers with Kiana Minchin (5) and Katelyn Somerville (4) leading the way. Minchin was also named best-on-ground and was well supported by Jemma Dorward and Ashley Jans.

MATCH REVIEW

Nyora's Lady Saints hosted the Foster Tigers in the final round of the regular season. Nyora came out firing from the first bounce but struggled with inaccurate kicking at goal to finish the first quarter 2.4 to a scoreless Tigers. The second term was a tight contest, with Nyora adding another two goals and Foster kicking a major against momentum, leaving Nyora with a 22-point half time lead. The third quarter saw Nyora dominate but again struggle in front of goals, contributing 3.8 to another goalless quarter for the Tigers. The Lady Saints at three quarter time held a seemingly unbeatable lead of 47 points, but Foster came out a different side in the final quarter, throwing everything at Nyora. The impressive Tigers kicked three goals and kept Nyora scoreless, but Nyora still managed a comfortable 31-point victory. The dynamic forward duo of Brodie McDonald and Kristy Moriarty was again strong in front of goal.

Simone Nottman was a strong marking presence in an unfamiliar role up forward, and Jess Lineham was sensational all ‘round in a best on ground performance. Stephanie Edwards, Telease Lane, Sharnie Fox and Rachael McKeown were all solid contributors, and Emma Lee Robertson and Kathy Cook held the backline structure.

MORWELL EAST  v BAIRNSDALE - Bairnsdale forfeited. Points awarded to Morwell East.

MATCH REVIEW

The last round of the season for the two bottom placed teams turned out to be as anti climatic as it comes, with Bairnsdale forfeiting the game. Morwell East officially received their first four points of the year, ideally they would have liked to see them come from a hard fought win as opposed to the circumstances in which they came.
