MATCH PREVIEW

It's starting to click for Buln Buln at the right time of the season and the Lyrebirds will enter their match against Nilma-Darnum as heavy favourites at home.

Buln Buln currently sit 5th on the ladder, two points ahead of Nyora and will be looking to back up with another win to secure their spot in the top 5. The Lyrebirds were surprise (to some) winners over Poowong last week and have won 3 of their last 5, with those losses being to Catani by 3 points and Ellinbank by 6 points.

The Bombers will be searching for their second win of the season, but Matt Shorey's men will be up against the tide. Their story has been a similar one all year and will need more avenues to goal, while less reliance on the same players to perform at their best will give Nilma-Darnum the best potential to secure a win.

MATCH PREVIEW

The inconsistent Blues must win this game to stay in touch with the top 5 and will go in favourites against 9th placed Lang Lang.

Catani sit seventh currently and round out the crop of finals contenders. They have struggled against the top sides, particularly recently, and just scraping over the line against the likes of Nilma-Darnum a few weeks ago would not fill a lot of people with confidence. However, they will go into this game as favourites

Internally, Lang Lang will go into this game as one they are confident of winning. The Tigers have shown improvement in recent weeks after a slow start to the season. They are closer than ever to fielding a full strength team and many people will likely not be surprised to see the home side push their more fancied counterparts.

MATCH PREVIEW

In a 2nd vs 4th clash, Longwarry will hope to keep the rest of the pack out of arms reach with a win over Poowong at home.

The Crows have shown some vulnerability in the last 4 rounds, with their only two losses coming up in that time. Longwarry currently sit two games clear in second on the ladder and one win behind ladder leaders Ellinbank. A loss here may not only see them fall two games behind top spot, but also allow sides below them a sniff at their current position.

Poowong have also seen some indifferent form in the last month, with losses to fellow finals contenders Nyora and Buln Buln. The Magpies currently sit in fourth position on the ladder, but a loss could see them drop to fifth. The visitors will know all wins at this time of year are important and this game will be no different.

MATCH PREVIEW

After an indifferent start to the season, Neerim-Neerim South sit in the box seat to claim outright third position with a win over the inconsistent Saints.

The Cats have been quietly going about their business and all the new faces from the start of the season have started to click. Their win two rounds ago against Longwarry made the competition sit up and take notice, which announced themselves as a team to keep an eye on. The Cats have won their last three matches and will hope to make it four in a row this round.

Kicking straight will be the name of the game for Nyora when they travel up the hill against the home side. The Saints have struggled for consistency lately and a large portion of that has been their inability to kick straight in front of goal. Last rounds' loss to Longwarry saw the Saints toppled out of the top 5, and a loss against Neerim South will make their premiership defence all the harder.

MATCH PREVIEW

Yarragon host league leaders Ellinbank in what threatens to be a one-sided affair.

The Panthers had a promising start to the season but have since dropped off the pace and find themselves in 8th spot on the ladder and out of the finals race.

Ellinbank have put many teams to the sword so far this season and this match could be another example of that. The Eagles will look to keep their four point difference on top of the ladder with a win against the home side.
