MATCH PREVIEW

In the third instalment of the Battle of the Avon, Boisdale Briagolong will be looking to make it three straight against Stratford at Boisdale.
The Bombers’ have had the better of their archrival this season by 48 and 11 points with this contest promising to be another classic.
Boisdale Briagolong’s finals position is secured although it could slip to second if it loses and Lindenow defeats Paynesville.
It’s simple for Stratford, win and its finals hopes are still alive, lose and it could be over.
The last thing Stratford wants is to be relying on Lucknow to lose.

MATCH PREVIEW

Paynesville will be hoping it can extend its winning streak to two when it faces Lindenow at the Cattery.
The Gulls are yet to defeat the Cats this season and will need to put together their best performance to do so.
The last time these two sides battled it out was in round 10 when Lindenow secured an 11-point win at the AJ Freeman Reserve.
Gulls’ coach, Aaron Cameron, played his 200th senior game against Orbost Snowy last Saturday in a 79-point win and will be eager to make his 201st game just as memorable.

MATCH PREVIEW

Orbost Snowy will be hoping it can kick off its reunion celebrations early when it hosts Lakes Entrance at Lochiel Park.
It will be the best chance the Blues get to win their first game of the season as the Seagulls have struggled with form in recent weeks, losing by 37, 82 and 63 points to Lindenow, Stratford and Lucknow respectively.
Lakes’ last win came against Orbost Snowy in round 10 when it ran out 12-point winners at the Lakeside Oval.

MATCH PREVIEW

With two rounds remaining Lucknow is on the verge of an East Gippsland senior football top four position but must win against Wy Yung tomorrow at Tigerland to keep itself in the hunt.
The Magpies currently occupy fifth, equal on points with the fourth placed Stratford, and four points behind the third placed Tigers.
Fourth is Lucknow’s for the taking with the Swans playing the two top sides, Boisdale Briagolong and Lindenow, in the last two rounds.
A loss tomorrow wouldn’t end the Magpies finals aspirations but would mean they have to defeat the winless Orbost Snowy next Saturday to be in with a chance.
Lucknow coach, Rhys Robinson, said his side can’t afford to lose.
“It’s really important for us to get the win. If we win in the next two weeks we probably play finals,” he said.
“Our form of late has generally been pretty good although last weekend was a bit of a setback against Boisdale Briagolong. They were pretty good.”
The Tigers secured a 24-point win the last time the two sides met in round 10 and Robinson said there could be a few new faces to his side.
“We will make a few personnel changes and mix it up,” he said.
“They defend really well so we will have to watch their players behind the ball like Darcy Murray, David Waddell and Shaun Mooney. Alex Crowe has also been pretty good for them.
“They set the game up from their back half.
“We have to work on our skills and delivery going forward as well.”
With tomorrow’s forecast predicting wet and windy conditions, Robinson believes the game will be won in the midfield.
“Whoever gets on top in the guts will get first use in their forward line,” he said.
“The weather is going to be pretty poor and it will most likely be a scrappy affair, which I think will suit my boys better because they are a little bit taller than us.
“The bad weather isn’t going to help their talls and we might look to go smaller.”
Brandon Sauer is one Magpie that will play a crucial role through the midfield and, since crossing from Lakes Entrance last season, has been in good form.
“He has been really good but had a sore back at the start of the season,” Robinson said.
“He has managed it pretty well and has been awesome through the midfield and swapping down forward.
“His work rate has been really good.”
