MATCH PREVIEW

In what will potentially be a preview of this year’s Grand Final, this first versus second clash will determine how close Bunyip are to Boisdale-Briagolong.

The Bombers have been irrepressible since the competition’s creation and are yet to lose a game since their inception.

Bunyip have only lost the one game this season so far against Boisdale-Briagolong in Round 6, and it was a convincing win to the Bombers. The Bulldogs have also been pushed twice by Nyora this season, with the winning margins being 10 points and 1 point respectively. In their most recent clash Bunyip had to come from behind after 3/4 time to win.

The home side might potentially look to expose the fact that the Bombers are coming off a bye and may lack continuity in their play, but that will likely be a fair stretch and the ladder leaders should arrive fresh and ready to go.

If both sides can move the ball effectively into their forward lines, we may expect a shoot out between Emily Porter and Ebony Whitworth, the league’s two leading goalkickers.

MATCH PREVIEW

In this 3rd vs 4th clash Foster will travel up the South Gippsland freeway in search of their 5th win of the season.

The two teams met in Round 6 and it was an emphatic win to the lady Saints, however the new team on the block – Foster – have had a bit more time to click, and the result may not be so clinical as their previous encounter.

Nyora will be keen to bounce back from last week’s loss to Bunyip, which they lead at 3/4 time. Brodie McDonald and Kristy Moriarity have been the home sides’ major source of goals so far this season, while Ashleigh Fennell, Caitlyn van Dord and Jessica Lineham have been in hot form recently.

Foster have won their last two games and will be hoping to carry that form over into this game. Tyla Angwin’s goal kicking prowess will be important if the Tigers want to get over the line, while the visitors will hope strong contributions from Kelsey Angwin, Hannah Weston and Jeanette Brown.

MORWELL EAST v BAIRNSDALE

MATCH PREVIEW

Bottom placed Morwell East host 5th placed Bairnsdale at Ronald Reserve in Morwell.

The Hawks have struggled in the their second season, but their endeavour can not be denied. The will up for the arduous task that is facing a Redlegs outfit which will go into this game as favourites.

The home side are still looking for their first ever win. Their lack of scoring power is an issue and will likely rely heavily on contributions from the likes of Olivia Ferretti, Jessica Reilly and Caitlyn Beale.

Bairnsdale’s solitary win came from their Round 6 clash against Morwell East, which saw the Redlegs come away with a very comfortable win. Brodi Pedretti has been their major contributor in front of goal, while the form of Kathleen Whittingham, Tilly-Rose Mounsey and Carrie Jones will be important.

Its getting towards the end of the season, so its time to start entering your votes in to Sports Vote Count. A comprehensive and fully functional vote count and presentation program all in one, now with video capabilities.
