MATCH REVIEW – 2ND SEMI FINAL

Bruthen made their 2018 win/loss record against Lindenow South 4-0 on Saturday with a 6 point win in their 2nd Semi Final clash at Lindenow South Rec Reserve. The win sees the Doggies enter the ODFNL Grand Final for the second successive season, while the Swampies will take on Swifts Creek in the preliminary final.

The game was tight the whole way through, either side not willing to give an inch. Bruthen kicked inaccurately in the first term – having six scoring shots to two – and they went into quarter time trailing by the smallest of margins.

Neither side could be separated in the 2nd term as both teams kicked 3.1 a piece and the margin remained the same heading into the main break.

The Bulldogs inaccuracy showed again in the third quarter as they were unable to capitalise fully on their six scoring shots to the Swampies’ four. But the minor premier took a 6 point buffer heading into the final quarter.

In the end the 3/4 time lead was the difference, as once again neither team could be split in the last term scoring wise, with both sides kicking 4.1 each. The Bulldogs took the honours in a hard fought win.

Bruthen’s list of goal kickers was topped by Max Solomon who slotted 5, while Alfred Solomon was named best-on for the Doggies.

For Lindenow South, Matt Davey also kicked 5, while Brenden Flinn was named best for the Swampies.
