Swan Reach vs Omeo Benambra @ Swifts Creek Rec Reserve, seniors start 2pm

Swan Reach and Omeo Benambra will resume hostilities to open the Omeo District senior football finals this Saturday at Swifts Creek.

The sides’ three contests this season have gone twice in favour of Swan Reach and once to the Alpine Ranges, the Swans’ wins coming by less than a goal.

Swan Reach will be hoping to get key playmaker Jesse Guarnaccia back this week after missing the final round of the home and away season with a knee complaint. A cloud still remains over the fitness of the competition’s leading goalkicker, Brandon Scott, who missed the past two weeks with a hamstring strain. To make things even more interesting Scott also had a tribunal appearance booked last night to answer three charges that arose from the Swifts Creek match a fortnight ago.

The Alpine Ranges have missed star player Riley Steenholdt who went down with a knee injury in round eight, but coach Cody Graske, ruckman Jai Hayward and his brother Aidan, Riley Taylor, Noah Willis and company have rallied and continued to win games.
