Return to play: When the senior leagues are coming back

Now that Victoria is out of Lockdown #5 (with restrictions), here is a list of of the Gippsland based senior leagues and when they plan to return to play:

WEST GIPPSLAND FOOTBALL NETBALL COMPETITION

The WGFNC will resume to play Round 12 of their fixture on Saturday August 14th.

Clubs were given two options by WGFNC administrators to either resume play this Saturday, 31 July or to return to play two weeks later.

The majority of clubs voted in the latter option for both football and netball across all age groups and grades.

ELLINBANK & DISTRICT FOOTBALL LEAGUE

The EDFL at this stage has only cancelled senior football for it’s scheduled Round 17 fixture on Saturday July 31st after a majority vote by clubs. The return to play date has been set for Saturday August 7th, with the Round 18 fixture to be played.

Clubs did, however, allow junior football grades to return to play on Saturday July 31st in the Under 16.5s and Under 18.5s.

GIPPSLAND LEAGUE

The Gippsland League will plan to resume all senior and junior competitions on Saturday August 7th, with matches scheduled from the Round 13 fixture to be played.

MID GIPPSLAND FOOTBALL NETBALL LEAGUE

The MGFNL will recommence on Saturday August 7th, wanting to play out its last two rounds before playing finals.

NORTH GIPPSLAND FOOTBALL NETBALL LEAGUE

The NGFNL has abandoned the remainder of their home and away season. A date to commence their finals series has yet to be announced.

EAST GIPPSLAND FOOTBALL NETBALL LEAGUE

The EGFNL plan to recommence the season on August 7th with their Round 15 fixture.

OMEO & DISTRICT FOOTBALL NETBALL LEAGUE

The ODFNL made an early decision to abandon the remainder of their home and away season, with finals planned to commence on Saturday August 7th.

AFL GIPPSLAND WOMENS FOOTBALL COMPETITION

The AFLGWFC recommenced their season on Sunday August 1st, with finals beginning on Sunday August 8th

SOUTH EASTERN WOMENS FOOTBALL

The SEWF recommenced their season on Friday July 30th with games played across the entire weekend.
