OUR TWO CENTS:
With two rounds to go, there is plenty to play for. On paper, predicting the results look cut and dry. But this competition can be anything but when sides field near close to full strength squads.
Omeo Benambra travel down and around to Buchan in a must win clash for the Cavemen. The Alpine Ranges have sewn up a top two spot with Swifts Creek, but Buchan are clinging to fourth position by their finger nails.
Hoping to leap frog into the top 4 is Lindenow South. Looking down and out early in the season, they will host Bruthen in another must win bout for both sides. Should the Swampies win, they have a chance to sneak into the top four. If the Bulldogs lose, they will stay in the top four, but risk a do or die match in the last round. If Bruthen win, they should all but seal up a finals berth.
The pain for Swan Reach continues with the announcement Friday night that they would not be able to field a team and had to forfeit the points. A big day was planned in Swifts Creek with a focus on the history of Lake Tyers Football Club now having to be postponed.
