DEMONS RETURN TO WINNER’S LIST

Despite a fighting first half from Buchan, Swifts Creek snapped a three game losing streak to come away with a 10-goal win.

The Cavemen stayed with their top 4 opponents for the first half, only trailing by nine points at the main break. However, Creek broke the shackles in the second half, kicking 13.9 to 5.6 to run away with the match.

Alastair Commins had a big day for Swifts Creek, kicking 7 snags and named best-on-ground. Jesse Hack also kicked 6 to take his season tally to 50 and maintains top spot on the ODFNL goal kickers list.

For Buchan, Tom Buckley-Kohne also had a day out kicking 6 goals and was named best for his side. He was also well supported by James Joiner.

MOUNTAIN MEN MAKE IT FIVE

Omeo-Benambra have strung five wins in a row after a hard fought 33 point win over Lindenow South.

After an inaccurate first quarter, the Alpine Ranges took a slim nine point lead into the main break.

Despite still struggling to kick straight in front on goal, the second half saw a more dominant display from OB, kicking 7.9 to 4.3 to cement the win.

Tyler Betts headed the goal kickers list for Omeo-Benambra with 3, while Nao Fujita was named best-on-ground.

For the Swampies, Ryan Lovegrove-Hudson kicked 4, while Max Solomon was kept to 2 goals for the game. Aaron Edwards was named their best player for the day.

BULLDOGS DOMINATE SWANS

Bruthen never gave Swan Reach a look in, defeating the bottom side by 149 points.

The Bulldogs kicked 12 goals in the first half and 14 in the second in their comprehensive win, while the Swans didn't kick a major until the second quarter and could only muster one behind in the final term.

Bruthen had 13 individual goal kickers, headed by Craig Taylor who kicked 5 and was named best-on-ground.

For Swan Reach, Sam Tindley-Roe kicked 2, while Tom Pickering was named best for his side.
