THE head of the Wimmera Football League says the newest football format AFLX could be adapted to address junior player shortages in country football.
AFLX, which debuted over summer, differed from the traditional version in several ways, most notably that it was played on a smaller field and that it required just seven players for a team, plus three on the bench.
Wimmera league chief commissioner Trevor Albrecht said it was “highly adaptable to low population areas”.
