CATANI WEATHER FORECAST:

Both the Blues and the Eagles have won four matches but their performances over the opening six rounds have been far from convincing. On the plus side for Catani it must be pleased with youngsters Wade Haysom, Jackson Caddy and Dylan Williams who are all coming along nicely while Ellinbank will be happy with the output from its ruck recruit Frank D’Agostino while livewire forward Shaun Phelan returned to his near best with four goals last game and strong marking forward recruit Adam Cook now with three games under his belt may be ready to stamp his authority on events.

LONGWARRY WEATHER FORECAST:

The Crows will enter favourites over the Lyrebirds but cannot expect an easy day. Buln Buln make all rivals work hard and its eighth position on the ladder misrepresents its competitiveness. It will be pleased it kicked more than 10 goals last round for the first time this season – posting 13 against Ellinbank to suggest it is improving its firepower. Great to see Hayden Baker playing good football after he suffered a serious injury last season. The battle between the EDFL Interleague ruckman Matt Gray and Nick Redley should be a highlight of the game. The presence of Daniel Fry and Braydon McHugh who have kicked 30 goals between them gives the home side the upper hand.

NYORA WEATHER FORECAST:

The Saints have left little room for criticism this season. In round 5 it came from behind with three late goals to beat the Dusties and last round after being headed it responded with the last two goals of the game against Longwarry. After being on the receiving end of many thumping’s in recent seasons the experienced trio of Adam Tagliaferro, Dylan Heylen and Nick Carrigy must be enjoying the undefeated start to the season. As its three-three win-loss record suggest the Bombers have mixed their form. The Campbell brothers Ben, Nathan and Tom have all been terrific and never play a bad game. Unfortunately for Nilma its defence has leaked to many goals and against Nyora who have kicked the most goals this suggests the home side look the goods to win.

Where is it being played?: Poowong Rec Reserve

What time is the seniors game scheduled to start?: 2:10pm

POOWONG WEATHER FORECAST:

Barring a major upset the Magpies should make it three wins on the trot. In Jack Hazendonk, Tom Wyatt, Jayden Sullivan, Tim Hancock and Chris Robinson it has plenty of top end class. The Cats are rebuilding. Only seven players from last round – Nick Humphrey, Nathan Bayne, Dean Stringer, Aiden Dibsdale, Ash Lockett, Aaron Fawcett and Jack Ward are still around from last seasons preliminary final team. Poowong should be knocking on the door of the top five by late afternoon.

WARRAGUL WEATHER FORECAST:

The Tigers travel up to Western Park. Having not averaged more than seven goals a game and playing against the Dusties that after six rounds boast the most frugal defence suggests it will be another tough day for the Lang Lang forwards. Star veteran Shane Brewster bagged seven goals last round to show he is still a force and if he can kick five goals this week he will record his 350TH goal with the Dusties. Lang Lang co-captain Josh Brown is always in the thick of things but just doesn’t have enough support around the packs this season.
