Lakes Entrance proved it’s still a strong finals contender with a good win over Lindenow, 17.18 (120) to 11.11 (77).
Despite a five-goal haul to Darren Allen, and a three-point margin at half-time, the Cats were well and truly overwhelmed in the third term, when Lakes kicked six goals to one to seal the game.
The Seagulls had eight goal kickers, with three each for Tom Smith, Fraser Dostine, and best-on-ground Alex Saunders.
Jack Van Reyk was best for Lindenow.

Lucknow picked up its fourth loss in a row, this time at home to Wy Yung, which won 8.11 (59) to 5.14 (44).
The Magpies were not able to capitalise on a one-point lead at quarter-time, kicking just 1.1 in the second as the Tigers ran away with the match.
Wes Russell was one of the stand-outs for Wy Yung, kicking five goals, with Josh Broome best for the Tigers.
Ash Smith was best for Lucknow, followed by Joel Kelly in his club record-breaking 269th senior game.

Paynesville picked up its third win for the season against Orbost-Snowy Rovers, 15.4 (94) to 12.7 (79).
Orbost squandered a 25-point lead at quarter-time, getting within a goal at three-quarter-time to set-up a close finish.
Jack Haslam was the star for Paynesville, with six goals. David Ashworth was named best.
Dayne Jorgensen was best for Orbost, and Hamish Nettleton kicked four.

A SCORE-LESS second term condemned Boisdale-Briagolong to a crushing loss against a towering Stratford.
The Swans maintained the top-of-the-ladder position in East Gippsland football with their 13.16 (92) to 4.5 (29) victory.
The Swans’ huge defensive pressure barely gave the visitors an inch in the first half.
The home side seemed to be able to find the goals every time the ball made it to its end.
Josh Kiss kicked four goals, including a sneaky soccer shot within the goal square. Haydn Erfurth added three goals to his tally of 43 for the season, just behind Lindenow’s Darren Allen on 46.
Boisdale-Briag’s highlights were few and far between, though its midfielders performed well.
Coach Jeremy Reid made half back his own, and best-on-ground Nick Marshall was among the goal scorers.
The tenacious-as-ever Lewis Bolton was best for Stratford, his effective positioning and handballing valuable during centre clearances.
