MATCH PREVIEW

Lindenow will be hoping it can kick off its 125-year celebration early when it hosts Wy Yung at the Cattery.
That will be easier said than done as the Tigers are playing some superb football.
The boys from Tigerland are the most in-form team in the competition, winning six games in a row.
However, Wy Yung is yet to beat the Cats this season with the most recent result being a six-point loss in round eight.
Lindenow will have to man up in-form forward, Brodie Anderson, who has bagged 17 goals from the past four matches. He was kept goalless in round eight.
Cats’ captain, Luke Dyer, and coach, Justin Gould, have marshalled the midfield and are more than capable of going forward and hitting the scoreboard.
Lindenow premiership players, Mark Baylis and Todd Alexander, will celebrate 250 and 100-game milestones respectively.

MATCH PREVIEW

Paynesville will be hoping it can dent Lucknow’s East Gippsland Football Netball League finals aspirations when the two sides clash at Lucknow tomorrow.
The sixth placed Gulls have shown vast improvement from last season and would love nothing more than to beat a finals contender, although they aren’t in the greatest of form after dropping four of their past five games. Lucknow sits equal on points with fourth placed Stratford and has a chance of moving into the top four if it wins.
According to coach, Aaron Cameron, the Gulls will leave no stone unturned against the in-form Magpies.
“We will be throwing everything at them and the sides that we play in the next four weeks,” he said.
“We are nowhere near done and we will be certainly having a crack, that’s for sure.”
Finals are out of contention for Paynesville, however Cameron says it’s a good opportunity for his players to play without the thought of finals on their minds.
“I told the guys at training on Tuesday night that it’s about playing with a bit of freedom from now on,” he said.
“Finals are out of the way for us now but if we can play with a bit of freedom and enjoy it, like we have the past couple of weeks, we will go alright.”
Despite winning one of their past five games, Cameron says the Gulls are still playing good football.
“I believe we are in reasonable touch and we are playing some pretty good footy, but we’ve just had patches in games where we let the opposition get on top and score,” he said.
“Internally we think we are playing some reasonable football and bar the Boisdale game, in the past six weeks, we’ve been competitive.
“Those patches in quarters just come down to concentration and with a young side it’s bound to happen a few times.”
Youngster, Alex McLaren, has been a shining light and has got the tick of approval from his coach.
“Alex has been really consistent for us all year,” Cameron said.
“He’s been getting his hands on the footy a lot – I’d love to have two of him.
“He has been playing through the midfield and up forward and has been super.”
The last time the two sides met was in round eight where Lucknow cruised to an 85-point win.
“We were in the game at half time, but we dropped off in the second half,” he said.
“They’re really well structured behind the footy and I suppose watching their scoreline and talking to a few blokes, they’re playing with a lot of confidence.
“When we play four quarters of footy I think we can beat anyone and we will have to do it on Saturday.”

MATCH PREVIEW

The winless Orbost Snowy will host ladder leader, Boisdale Briagolong, at Lochiel Park.
If the Blues are ever going to beat the Bombers it is now with Boisdale losing two games in as many weeks to Wy Yung and Lindenow.
The Josh Stubbe-led Bombers will be disappointed with their efforts over the past fortnight and will be eager to make amends as they prepare for their first finals series in the EGFNL.
If Boisdale Briagolong loses, it could move to second if the Cats beat the Tigers.

MATCH REVIEW

The grand final rematch between Stratford and Lakes Entrance will be played at Stratford with the Swans heavily favoured and eager to ensure they play finals again.
The Swans are struggling with consistency and must defeat the Seagulls if they wish to maintain fourth position and avoid allowing Lucknow into the prime position.
Stratford has won two of its past five matches, although has had the Seagulls’ measure this season, winning by 65 and 47 points.
The always-dangerous forward line of Haydn Erfurth and Rodney O’Keefe will most likely cause headaches for Lakes Entrance if it doesn’t stop the quality ball use coming from the midfield.
If the Swans lose and Lucknow wins, the Magpies will push the reigning premier outside the top four.
