Tyson Goldsack has told reporters he is “definitely keen to play on” in the wake of his likely season ending knee injury. Whilst optimistic he can return by the end of the year, recovery from surgery usually takes 10-12 months.
“It’s fair to say that I hope I haven’t played my last game. I’m definitely keen to play again whether that’s late this year or if it has to be next year then we’ll go down that path after surgery. But I’m definitely keen to play on.”
Goldsack has played 161 games for the Magpies since making his debut in 2007, including Collingwood’s 2010 premiership.
He signed a one-year contract extension for 2018 last September after returning to his consistent best and playing 20 games for the Magpies.
